delay_example
Table of content
This page provides examples on how to use the satellite delay feature in OpenSAND to emulate the delay in satellite constellations. Currently, templates are provided for O3B and Iridium.
The main idea is to provide a one-way-delay per terminal file delay and set a negligible delay on the gateway.
We recommend to set the constant_delay.conf
parameter to 1ms on the delay in and out of the satellite gateway.
The actual delay variations are applied on the satellite terminal file delay level. This example is suitable for one satellite terminal but can be duplicated for the several terminals that could be considered.
The one-way-delay has been simulated with NS-2 by Amal Boubaker. A CBR source generates one packet every 30 seconds from a terminal located in the middle of the atlantique ocean to London.
