Write a report to explain 3 of the below need-finding methods mentioned in the video. Do your own research online. 1 page for each method. You will be using these methods to complete the homework for this class.

  1. Naturalistic observation
  2. Participant observation
  3. Hacks and workarounds
  4. Apprenticeship and ethnography
  5. Interviews and focus group
  6. Think aloud
  7. Post-event protocol

Homework:

The next class is to discuss your report on the below need-finding activity. Please be ready with your report.

  1. Please divide and conquer within your group on how to conduct the need-finding. (You should finish watching the materials and have a scrum planning meeting on Monday.)

  2. Form a plan. Before any need-finding activity, it is important to form a plan first. It is not only important for the finding process itself but also helps avoid bias. An example of need-finding planning report - need-finding planning.

  3. Conduct the need-finding. Please make sure to include 3 types of need-finding activities. You need to conduct user interviews. The rest 2 types of need-finding can be chosen freely.

  4. Please upload your report to Class 02/Report 2 folder. Name your report with your group number.
