Separate exams

Here are some pieces of advice to those who complete the course by doing an individual miniproject and an exam.

1. Please remember that the deadline to return the miniproject and to register to the exam is 10 days before the exam date. You can find the dates of the exams ("separate exams") on the Department homepage (be careful to select separate exams).

2. The instructions for the miniproject are here (scroll down to find the specifics on individual or "solo" projects).

3. The exam itself may contain for example the following kinds of questions:

   • explaining why certain data science tasks are important (e.g., looking at the data, privacy)
   • commenting on example visualizations
   • identifying suitable statistical or data management techniques in particular scenarios
   • evaluating example cases in light of the data protection regulation (but you don't need to be able to recite the particular laws, regulations and articles that are relevant; it's enough to be able to know the basics)
   • proposing a data science solution for a given problem (or coming up with the problem!)
