Use this page to suggest problems/topics for competition team. If you have an idea of a type of problem you want to work on (sentiment analysis, topic modeling, etc.) or a particular dataset of interest, first check and see if anyone else has suggested it. If you find one, add your name to the list of those interested. If your idea is new, add it to the list so that others can add their names.

How much time are our legislators spending on the presidential campaign? Similar to investigations that have been done on lost instructional time in schools, I'm interested in the question of how much of our legislator's work time is lost to the national election campaign. The data for this would be tough to find - I've only contacted one Congressperson's office so far, but they suggested that we'd have to contact each congressperson individually to see if they'd be willing to release the schedules, since they're not subject to FOIA requests. But President's past schedules are available, so perhaps we could start there. - Myfanwy Johnston (@Myfanwy)
