OptiFine & Shaders

OptiFine is not officially supported by Craft to Exile [Harmony] and it is 100% recommended to use Iris Shaders over OptiFine. However, members of the community have worked hard to find working versions. It'd be wasteful to not share them here! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Iris Shaders/Sodium (Performance + Shaders)

There is no reason to play with OptiFine with the advent of Iris Shaders. Fabric has Iris Shaders which includes a custom build of Sodium and has built-in compatibility for popular shaders such as Sildur's, SEUS, and BSL, which are for OptiFine! You will only need to download Iris Shaders and not Sodium! It's built in! If you're really keen on using OptiFine (maybe for a specific shader?), look below.

OptiFine (Performance + Shaders)

  1. Remove the following mods from the mods folder: Crimson Moon, Blur, Lithium, and Lamb Dynamic Lights. Yes, you will need to remove Crimson Moon as it relies on the Satin API. So I really don't recommend this. Use Canvas for shaders or Sodium for performance.
  2. Use the latest version of OptiFabric with OptiFine 1.16.2 HD U G5.

Canvas Renderer (Fabric Shader Alternative)

Canvas Renderer is a Fabric mod that enables built-in shaders. You won't be able to choose from popular shaderpacks like Sildur's, but you will still have that juicy aesthetic. Canvas should also be compatible with most client-side "aesthetic" mods such as Lamb Dynamic Lights. In fact, it's possible to put together a collection of mods that is functionally the same as OptiFine in Fabric without using OptiFine!

I also recommend using this resource pack with Canvas.
