Project Inheritance
This wiki page provides a detailed explanation of Project Inheritance in the Knowledge application, illustrating its significance in organizing and managing Sources within Projects and Subprojects.
Project Inheritance is a key feature in Knowledge that enables higher-level Projects to inherit the Sources of all their descendant Projects and Subprojects. When a Project is active, its Sources and the Sources of all its Subprojects become visible and accessible, streamlining the organization and navigation process.
In other words, Project Inheritance allows users to consolidate and view all relevant Sources from different levels of the Project hierarchy in one place, without having to navigate through multiple Subprojects individually.
When you activate a Project, Knowledge automatically compiles all the Sources associated with that Project and its Subprojects. The inherited Sources are then displayed in various views, such as the Graph view, Table view, Grid view, and Calendar view, enabling users to interact with and explore all relevant information more efficiently.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to access inherited Sources:
- Open the Knowledge application.
- Locate the "Projects" panel on the left side of the interface.
- Click on the desired Project to activate it.
- Once the Project is active, navigate to any of the available views (Graph, Table, Grid, Calendar, or Chat) to see the inherited Sources.
Project Inheritance offers several advantages when it comes to organizing and managing Sources:
- Simplified Navigation: By consolidating Sources from different levels of the hierarchy, Project Inheritance reduces the need for users to navigate through multiple Subprojects to access relevant information.
- Improved Organization: Project Inheritance helps users maintain a well-structured hierarchy and better understand the relationships between Projects, Subprojects, and Sources.
- Efficient Information Management: By making all inherited Sources visible and accessible, Project Inheritance enables users to interact with and explore their information more efficiently, enhancing the overall learning experience.
Project Inheritance is a powerful feature in Knowledge that streamlines the organization and navigation process by consolidating Sources from different levels of the Project hierarchy. By enabling users to access and interact with all relevant information in one place, Project Inheritance improves the overall organization and management of Sources within Projects and Subprojects, enhancing the user experience in the Knowledge application.
