Acquiring Resources
By default the only way to obtain better gear is by killing mobs. If you have adventured far enough, you will have noticed that mobs drop pieces of equipment with a level similar to theirs. As you progress through your adventure and level up, you will need to explore further territory to find better weapons and armor. All equipment dropped by mobs will have some of its durability removed, so being able to repair it until you find better gear is a must.
Mine and Slash introduces 5 new ores to the game, one for each rarity level. These ores are mostly used as fuel for the different Stations, and you will find these distributed randomly on your world regardless of rarity and height.
The ores in Mine and Slash CANNOT be used to craft new gear and weapons.
You can also craft a Gear Salvage Station, which allows you to break down old items and obtain ores from the same rarity as the gear. It is highly recommended to do so as the items dropped by enemies will start to pile up quite fast.
Now that you have the gear and the ores, it's time to repair them with a Gear Repair Station. Add your gear to the slots on the left and add fuel (ores) on the bottom slot. Once the progress bar completes, an item will be moved to the slots on the right with some extra durability.
The durability added is directly proportional to the amount of ores used as fuel and their rarity. See the station's wiki page for more information.
There is a set of items in Mine and Slash grouped under the term "Currency". These items are used to add or modify properties on weapons and gear, and are also obtained by killing mobs. At first these might be hard to find, so it is recommended to store a few until you obtain a higher rarity gear.
When you want to start improving your gears, you will need to craft a Gear Modify Station.
