Kanban for Funding Requests

What is a Kanban View The Kanban view is a type of List View to display a visual summary for a selection of records. By seeing all your records at once, you can more effectively monitor your work and keep deals moving forward.

In the case of Outbound Funds, having a Kanban view can be very beneficial to see where each request is in the process and move Requests to the next status with a drop/drag interface.

Building a Kanban Creating a Kanban View starts with creating a list view or updating an existing list view. To create a new list view:

  1. Navigate to the tab in which you would like to create the view for - e.g. Funding Requests.
  2. Click the Settings wheel and select New from the dropdown. Image
  3. Give the List View a Name.
    1. If you want all users to see the list view, select All users can see this list view.
    2. Click Save.
  4. In the right hand corner, a filters box will appear.
    1. Add Filters to narrow the list of records such Application Date = THIS YEAR.
  5. Click the Settings wheel and select Select Fields to Display from the dropdown.
    1. Select the appropriate fields.
    2. To reorder the fields, click the up- and down- arrows.
    3. Press Save when done.
  6. The List View will appear as a table. To change to the Kanban view, click the Table icon and select Kanban.
  7. A popup will appear with two dropdowns - Summarize By and Group By.
    1. Summarize By - Totals a Number/Currency field on the Object - e.g. Requested Amount
    2. Group By - Columns within the Kanban the data will be sorted - e.g. Status Image
  8. Click Save and the List View will look something like this: Image
