User Testing Methodology

The aim of the user testing was to check for the design of the UI features and functionality, wherein users are able to select character and buildings from their respective menus: user character menu and building selection menu. To enable constructive criticism and similar reasoning, the comments were recorded directly in the github ticket.

User Testing Results

To gather a better overview quantitative and qualitative data was analysed. For the former the result is as follows: Question 1: On a scale of 1 – 5, how effective and ‘easy to use’ was the menu system for building (with 1 being ‘terrible’ and 5 being ‘great’)

The qualitative analysis allowed us to analyse the menu as per subjective assessment and the overall result are as follow:

Users found the design "intuitive" and "simple to use". They found the placements of the button and were easily able to manoeuvre the same. However, the users reported a bug wherein the menu spawns correctly the first time, and is not able to respawn again.

User Test Analysis

The input obtained through user testing was mostly favourable. Most users liked the interface and could easily utilise the its intended features. Additionally, it should be mentioned that the UI is both functionally and stylistically align with the game's theme.

However, the flaw is especially problematic because it affects a key game feature and may even make the game unplayable.

Intended Plan of Action

Since the menu designs are tidy, it should be possible to respawn the menu in order to provide for a seamless gameplay experience.
