Age of Exile V2.0.0 Update Preview
Welcome to Age of Exile v2.0.0 update preview!
This update has been in the works for more than half a year, and I was even helped by Sattes, Panbanan and Mahj because it was honestly too much for a single person. There's a LOT of content added and systems overhauled to make the mod much better than before. Here I will outline just the big additions.
You can download the beta build here: LINK
The talent tree is back, gui was overhauled and there's hundreds of perks to choose from.
For the first time since mod was created, we finally have true endgame thanks to panbanan the jigsaw master! Use the Map Device to delve into the Dungeon dimension, going through incresingly harder difficulty tiers to obtain more loot and exlusive rewards! The dungeons come in 3 variants: Solo, Duo, Party. Yes, it's not just endgame, it's also team based endgame with tanks, healers, damage dealers and supports. The mod is now headed more into the MMORPG territory with Party based dungeons.
Spell system was overhauled into the Skill gem system. You now have 8 Spell slots and 12 Support gem slots you can fill as you desire. The hotbar is back too with 4 slots, and another 4 slots by pressing Shift.
Many new spells have been added to support the new play styles:
- Heal spells
- Totem spells
- Song spells
- Aggro spells
Oh, I forgot to mention, there's also an aggro system for the dungeons! Yes just like in MMOs, the ones that do most damage will get focused by mobs! That's where tanks come in with their threat generating and taunt spells, alongside healers and supports that buff the whole team.
Sattes has been working overtime to transform every weapon into 3D, yes EVERY! There's some new weapon types like: Glove weapons, Scepters, Scythes, Spears, Hammers and more. Every Unique will have a unique 3D model too, so stay tuned!
All along people have been asking me for stuff like Potions or craftable Buffs. I already refused because.. I don't like half assing features. I didn't have a concrete idea so I delayed it. That is no longer true, and I present Professions:
Icon | Profession | Leveling | Rewards |
---|---|---|---|
Salvaging | Salvaging gear in the salvage station | Purified Essence, it is the material that most other professions and recipes use. | |
Mining | Mining vanilla ores or smelting them. | Mystical stones that can be used for Blacksmithing and Inscribing | |
Farming | Farming Age of Exile plants | Produce that is used in: Alchemy, Cooking | |
Fishing | Vanilla fishing | Raw fish can be cooked via Cooking skill, sometimes Ink drops (not vanilla kind), that is used in Inscribing mostly. | |
Exploration | Opening new chests that are generated in the world, or doing advancements | Extra loot in chests |
Icon | Profession | Leveling | Rewards |
---|---|---|---|
Alchemy | Crafting potions in Alchemy station | Potions, can be used to replenish health and mana instantly | |
Cooking | Crafting foods in the Cooking station | Foods, which give long lasting buffs and even give useful vanilla effects, like night vision for example. | |
Inscribing | Crafting scrolls in Scribe station and tablets in the Tablet station | Buff scrolls are short but powerful buffs meant to be used in dificult situations, like when you're surrounded by mobs or about to fight a boss. Protection tablets are automatic lifesavers or convenience. | |
Blacksmithing | Crafting things in the Smithing Station | Stones can be crafted into Keys, which open locked chests found in the world. You can also craft Backpack upgrades. |
