Azuna's Favor System

Favor is like a resource. As long as you are favored by azuna, you can gain good loot and level up.

Without favor, many penalties apply. You can see your current status ingame via main hub [H] or character screen

In short, the penalties at 0 favor are:

  • no exp gain
  • all loot is unsalvagable
  • no good loot

The only way to gain favor is by looting new chests out in the world. Dungeons, villages, towers, whatever.

You lose favor as you kill mobs and they drop loot.

To see your current favor, open the main hub [H] or character screen.

Purpose of the system:

  1. Encourage exploration
  2. Reduce and limit usefulness of mob farms
  3. Give servers a healthier economy by not allowing infinite mob farm usage
  4. Remove infinite resource gain from players that have infinite gear materials to craft and salvage infinite gears.

More in depth:

All gear that drops will be unsalvagable if you don't have any favor. That means you can't profit off farming mobs at 0 favor. You won't get gems, runes etc either. At 0 favor, all you get are things newbies absolutely require to play the game, average gear drops.

Favor gained is lowered when opening chests in area too low or too high level of you, to not reward lvl 50s farming lvl 1 areas for chests.

The idea is to limit mob farming based on the one thing that can't be automated, which is opening new loot chests.

Warning: disable this system on servers if you can't provide all players a way to adventure in un-explored areas! For singleplayer it should be perfectly fine though.

Server owner tip: if you have a problem of players not being able to find unlooted areas, I suggest deleting the "hell" dimensions of World of Exile mod every week or month.
