Using Town Plots
In Towny, there are a lot of different town plot types each with a specific function. A plot no matter what type is as large as a chunk (16x256x16 blocks big.)
A default plot is a regular type of plot which a player can buy if the mayor sells it using /plot forsale (price)
and then a player can claim the plot by typing /plot claim
. Sometimes, if a plot is set for sale for 0 gold, it may not claim correctly - in this scenario, it can usually be fixed by giving the plot a price. Default Plots are often used for individual player plots where a player can buy a plot and make a house there and such. If the mayor or town assistant wants to change any plot back to default he can type /plot set default
.
A shop plot is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set shop
. A mayor can then use /town set shopprice (amount)
to change the amount of money required to buy a shop plot. A mayor can then also charge an additional shoptax by typing /town set shoptax (amount)
where if the player does not keep up with the tax they will be evicted from the plot. Shop Plots are generally used by the town mayor to make shops which town members can buy.
A arena plot is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set arena
. A arena plot has pvp enabled at all times and friendly fire is enabled. The default Town health regen is also disabled in arena plots.
A embassy plot is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set embassy
. A mayor can do /town set embassyprice (amount)
to set how much embassy plots are sold at by default. Similar to shop plots, a mayor can also do /town set embassytax (amount)
to set a embassy tax where if the player does not keep up with taxation they will be evicted from the plot. Embassy Plots can be bought by any player allowing for mayors to make markets with shops owned by different towns. When a player leaves the town, they still keep ownership of their embassy plot.
A wilds plots is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set wilds
. A wilds plot allows residents to destroy the blocks found on the wild ignore ID list. This includes ores, trees, flowers, mushrooms and other harvestable blocks by default. It does not include stone, dirt, grass and other terrain blocks. You can set allies or outsiders perms if you want them to be able to use the wilds plot.
A inn plot is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set inn
. A inn plot allows a player to set their /res spawn
and make them able to spawn there upon death. Switch perms are automatically enabled in this plot.
A jail plot is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set jail
.
- They are sent to jail by the mayor via the command
/t toggle jail [number] [residentname]
where the number is the number of the jail and the residentname is the name of the resident who you want to jail. - An attacker who attacks a town which considers him an Enemy (Nation-relationship) dies in that Town. He is sent to the first available Jail plot of the defending town.
- They leave their town and become a nomad.
- The mayor unjails them.
- The player pays bail to the town which he is in jailed in,
/resident jail paybail
. - They escape the jail plot and escape to the wilderness.
- Jailed players cannot teleport.
- Jailed players cannot use Ender Pearls unless enabled in the config.
- Jailed players who die are sent back to their prescribed jail plot.
- Jailed players do not give monetary payouts when they are killed.
A farm plot is a type of plot which a mayor or town assistant can designate by typing /plot set farm
. A farm plot is similar to a wilds plot but it is generally used in public farms where the players can only destroy the crops or kill the pre-defined animals. Build & destroy perms are automatically enabled in this plot.
