Welcome to the wiki for the Unofficial Foundry VTT Implementation of The Burning Wheel.
This Wiki is intended as a usage guide for the system based on the Burning Wheel Gold Revised rules available in the burning wheel store.
You can find the release notes for the project here.
Though the design goal of the system is to be able to play a session of burning wheel without having to rely on external factors, there is something to be said for being able to look at a whole pile of dice roll on the screen when a test is made. Burning Wheel has been adjusted to accommodate Dice So Nice! whenever any dice are rolled.
Yes, as things stand these things cannot be included in this system (what with it's free and unofficial status). As things stand I will not be accepting any PRs to include these things in BW.
Search through the list of open issues. Check the closed issues as well. If you don't find your issue reported, have a look at opening up a bug report. Alternatively, have a look at the contribution guidelines and submit a Pull Request with the fix for everyone else to enjoy.
With the project transitioning to maintenance mode, I've created all the features I thought would be really cool to have. If you have some bright new idea you have a few options at your disposal.
- As with the bug reporting, have a look at the issues already visible and create a new feature request. There is no guarantee that this is something that will get accepted and even less guarantee in the time frame in which it would get developed (though if I also think your cool idea is cool that is more likely to be quick)
- Have a look at the contribution guidelines, create a fork of the system, make your dreams a reality and open up a pull request. Not going to earn you any international acclaim, but if it's accepted you can experience the same satisfaction I feel whenever I push some buggy new feature to all the unsuspecting users of this system.
- Don't bother with contribution guidelines, fork the system, do your magic, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
- Create a foundry module that plugs into foundry, performs impromptu surgery on the system, and implements whatever cool new idea you had without involving this system in any way.
