- Current status of translations
- Soudabeh mentioned the sentence 16 (Ayşe bu kitabı okumuş değil.)
- She translated using double negation: "oxumamış dǝyir".
- We discussed the issue 11, also sentential negation and 'değil' in Azeri and Kyrgyz.
- 'değil' negates the entire sentence in Turkish.
- 'emes' is Kyrgyz's 'değil'.
- Jonathan mentioned the sentences 3 and 8.
- We discussed the sentence 20 regarding multiple TAM (i.e. tense, aspect and mood) markers.
- Aorist tense is not preferred in annotation.
- We talked about the abessive case ('-sız' in Turkish, meaning without)
- Double negation is not used in Kumyk.
- 'bilmiş ol' (know that) in the sentence 10 is a bit of imperative.
- We decided not to add the sentences 21A and 21B currently in the Kyrgyz translations, here; but still leave them as reference.
- We discussed LVC (i.e. light verb constructions) in UD, case in point being the Turkish-German code-switching treebank. Link from the UD docs.
- Change the sentence 16 (Ayşe bu kitabı okumuş değil.) to be "Ayşe bu kitabı okumamış değil.", #13
- This matches the current Azeri translation in the PDF.
- Start annotating, #14
- Ask UD about parallel treebanks of a rather small size (20 sentences in our case), #16
- Turkish teams should annotate independently.
- Set a meeting 2 weeks or so from now to discuss the eventual annotations, #17
- when2meet is deemed OK. Another one will be shared for the next meeting.
